Dr Ilesh Dattani has a Phd in Artificial Intelligence and is a member of the International Standards Organisation committee on Security, Resilience and Governance covering standards on Information Security and Business Continuity. More recently he has also been nominated to the British Standards Committee on Big Data (access, use and sharing in a compliant way). He has been implementing standards based security solutions for over 10 years. He is an R&D Project Reviewer in the areas of Cyber Security, protection of Critical Infrastructure and Privacy for Innovate UK, Nesta and the EU. He has specific sector experience in Transport, Financial Services, Fintech, Education and Energy. For the last 2 years he has been working on the use of Blockchain to enhance security and privacy in transaction based systems – working on the development of proof of concepts for applications in healthcare and financial services. He is a member of the Whitechapel Think Tank (founded by Barclays) working on the development of strategy, policy and standards for the use of blockchain in financial services. He is in working groups on Digital Identity and Financial Crime within Blockchain. He is the co-founder of Assentian, a cyber security practice, and the founder of Blockhead labs – an innovation lab developing proof of concepts for applications using blockchain and advising companies of transformational dis-intermediation with the use of blockchain.
